We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate to join the School in our excellent English department. This full-time, permanent position commences in September 2020. This position has become available as the current incumbent has announced that after 34 years they will be retiring at the end of this academic year.
The English department prides itself on providing an education that enables students to active their full potential in public examinations as well as engendering a love of the subject. The department also offers a variety of societies, including Book Groups, Poetry Clubs and Public Speaking. The department is committed to encouraging every student to find their own strengths and interests, and has strong links with the library, encouraging students to read avidly and widely. The Library runs events throughout the year including National storytelling week, Banned books week, Visiting author workshops and World book day.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Sir William Perkins’s School is a high-performing independent girls’ School for approximately 600 students aged 11 – 18 years. The Head is both a member of HMC and GSA. It was founded in 1725 and is now on an attractive 12 acre site situated on the outskirts of Chertsey, a two minute walk from the railway station and very near to the junction of the M3 and M25.
